The North Sulawesi (Sulut) Regional Police have arrested ten suspects for alleged abuse and one suspect for alleged hate speech after the incident that occurred in Bitung City some time ago.

The Ditreskrimsus Polda North Sulawesi has also coordinated with investigators from the East Kalimantan Police, where for one alleged perpetrator of another hate speech with the initials MK, it has been secured and is currently being handled by the East Kalimantan Police.

"All suspects, both suspects of abuse and hate speech, have now been detained at the North Sulawesi Police Detention Center. Except for the MK suspect, because it is handled at the East Kalimantan Regional Police," he said.

"For the suspect in hate speech, he is subject to Article 45 a paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law number 19 of 2017 concerning amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions with a maximum threat of six years in prison and a maximum fine of one billion rupiah," he said.
