Live IG Together Aurelie Moeremans, Son Of Nababan Discusses More Terrible Air Pollution

JAKARTA - Actress and singer Aurelie Moeremans held a public talk with Member of the Indonesian Parliament, Putra Nababan. When holding a live Instagram together, the two discussed the problem of still poor air quality in Jakarta which was in the spotlight.

Talking with Putra Nababan who is a member of Commission X DPR RI, Aurelie investigated the extent to which the DPR supports the Government in recovering air quality. This was done in the program 'Ngobrolin DPR' via live Instagram, on Wednesday, September 20.

In the casual conversation on IG live, Putra said that the poor air quality in several areas in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta, was caused by several factors. Such as a prolonged dry season, motorized vehicle smoke to rogue industry players who are contributors to pollution.

"The government needs to provide strict socialization and education to industry players to encourage them to take advantage of clean energy sources such as solar or wind energy and for the purposes of the household industry as well, because many industries that are not registered need to be educated," said Putra.

Putra also mentioned the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, which is currently trying to create artificial rain to relieve pollution in the air. However, he considers that the efforts to make artificial rain have not been very successful.

"Forensive vehicles that do not experience rain also have an impact on air quality in Jakarta. That's why the government makes artificial rain even though it's not successful, only intrigurations," he said.

Although there has been no significant progress from weather engineering efforts, Putra ensures that the DPR supports various steps by the Government in overcoming the problem of air pollution. Such as increasing public transportation facilities to reduce the number of motorized vehicles that are one of the contributors to the police in the air.

"If we all use private transportation, that is also a contributor to the negative effects of air quality in the capital city. Compared to neighboring countries such as Singapore, Malaysia and Australia, how do they use public transportation to go to school, to offices and so on," explained Putra.

DKI Jakarta is currently a big city in the world with poor air quality. Apart from being caused by various factors, the lack of green open space in Jakarta is now also considered to be the cause. Whereas green parks can help overcome the problem of poor air quality.

Putra assessed that development in DKI Jakarta needs to be accompanied by the opening of many green open spaces as a form of sustainable development.

"In the past, when I was still a supplier, Bung Karno prepared the Semanggi area as Jakarta's lungs. That's why there are many green trees in the Semanggi area. If we look now that there are many buildings, the trees are small, just for city planning," said the legislator from the DKI Jakarta I electoral district.

The DPR RI, which has the supervisory function, also plans to form a Special Panita (Pansus) to assist the Government in determining policy directions to overcome air pollution problems, especially in Jakarta. Together with the Government, the DPR is committed to providing clean air for the community.

"We are engaged in policy because the DPR functions in terms of supervision, supervising making laws, making regulations and together with the Government to prepare a budget. The executor is only the Government, we only assist the government," said Putra.

In the live Instagram, Aurelie also conveyed a number of questions from netizens for the Indonesian House of Representatives regarding the issue of air police. One of them is about burning garbage that is still happening in the city community. Garbage burning is also a contributor to air pollution.

"This is a question from netizens, instead of burning the garbage, can the waste be given an electrolyte liquid for the recycling process," Aurelie said representing a live Instagram audience question.

Putra then explained the bad effects of burning garbage. According to him, people need to be educated about the use of waste so that no more waste burning processes occur.

"That's right, the matter of recycled waste is very good. Waste sorting is very good for positive things. Whatever I support about recycling waste as long as there is no burning of garbage that can cause air pollution," said Putra.
