The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police have named a suspect in the alleged immoral case that accused a prospective legislative member from Sekotong, West Lombok Regency, of committing the indecent act against his biological child.

Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) Polda NTB Kombes Pol. Teddy Ristiawan revealed that the suspect in this case is still a child.

"Because this concerns children who are in conflict with the law, so for the identity concerned we cannot convey it. Not to cover it up, but to protect the child," Teddy said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 6.

Regarding the emergence of the role of a child suspect in a previously revealed case reporting the legg from Sekotong as the alleged perpetrator, the police chose not to disclose it to the public.

"What is clear is that from the facts revealed in this case, there have been indications of sexual intercourse and physical harassment," he said.

Although reluctant to reveal the identity and role of the suspect, Teddy said that this case, investigators determined the suspect based on the professional and procedural handling.

"So, this handling has really become central attention, as you know, this case has already been supervised by the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, LPSK and Kompolnas. Therefore, we are conducting an investigation using the crime science investigation (CSI) method," he said.

Investigators have named the suspect who is still a child by applying Article 81 paragraph (1) or paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 76D of Law No. 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law no. 1 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law no. 23 of 2022 concerning Child Protection and / or Article 6C of Law no. 12 of 2022 concerning Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence.

Teddy said the suspect had carried out security by entrusting him to an Institution for Social Welfare Implementation (LPKS).

For the development of the handling, Teddy said that investigators had sent case files to the research prosecutor.

"That this immoral file has been sent to the NTB Prosecutor's Office and is currently under investigation by the prosecutor," he said.

In the completeness of the file, investigators have included information on the results of the examination of 14 witnesses, including the victim. Psychological examination of the victim, the results of the victim's post-mortem, processing the crime scene and confiscation of evidence were included in the completeness of the case file.
