JAKARTA - The former West Sumatra Police Chief, Teddy Minhasa, has been fired or dishonorably dismissed (PTDH) following his involvement in the distribution of methamphetamine. The National Police said that currently the administrative process is being prepared.

"In the process of (administration of dismissal)," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Thursday, August 24.

The administrative process in question is the letter of dismissal of Teddy Minahasa as a member of the National Police. When it is completed, the file will later be sent to the Presidential Military Secretariat (Setmillres).

Meanwhile, the National Police HR has three working days to submit the letter to the Secretariat of the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensesneg).

"The process is of course made first. The letter is still made, later when it is made it will definitely be sent," said Ramadhan

The National Police decided to fire Teddy Minahasa after rejecting the appeal filed by the former West Sumatra Police Chief.

Originally, Teddy Minahasa had filed an appeal against the results of the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) hearing which was held on Friday, August 4.

The decision also confirmed the sanctions for dismissal which had been handed down at the trial on May 30, 2022.

The former West Sumatra Police Chief was deemed to have violated the rules because of his involvement in the circulation of methamphetamine.

"We have ordered AKBP DP, who at that time served as the Head of the Bukit Tinggi Police, to set aside evidence of the type of methamphetamine from the results of the disclosure of narcotics trafficking," said Ramadhan.
