GARUT - The General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Garut Regency said there were no objection reports or lawsuits regarding the results of the decision on the provisional candidate list (DCS) for legislative candidates (caleg).

"There is not a single election participant or candidate for election participants who submitted a request for a dispute over the election process to the Garut Regency Bawaslu," said Garut Regency Dispute Legal and Settlement Division Commissioner Yusuf Firdaus in Garut, Thursday, August 24, as reported by Antara.

He said that the Garut KPU had determined the decision on the results of the verification of the candidates who entered DCS as many as 745 people, and 75 people did not meet the requirements on August 18, 2023.

According to the rules, he continued, parties who object to the results of the decision can file a lawsuit against the Garut Bawaslu until the expiration date of Wednesday, August 23, or three working hours after being determined by the Garut KPU.

"This indicates that there are no political parties or legislators from the Garut Regency DPRD who feel aggrieved by their rights due to the issuance of the Garut Regency KPU decree," he said.

He said, after the determination of the DCS legislative candidate and there was no lawsuit, Bawaslu Garut also informed the public about the opportunity to submit responses and inputs to the Garut DPRD leg.

The response and input from the public, he said, could be conveyed directly to the Garut KPU within 10 days from the time the DCS was announced as stipulated in the provisions of Law Number 7 of 2017 Article 252 paragraph 5.

"Currently, space is open for the public to be able to submit responses and input to the DCS for prospective members of the Garut Regency DPRD which has been announced by the KPU," he said.

The Garut KPU has carried out the process of submitting a leg legislative application for the 2024 Legislative Election starting May 1, 2023 until the deadline for the reading leg administrative verification process on August 15, 2023.

The results of the verification of the candidates from 18 political parties who met the requirements and entered DCS were 745, and as many as 75 people did not meet the requirements.
