JAMBI - The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the Jambi Police is ready to write to 1,100 tax-dead vehicles over 2 years before they delete the vehicle data.

Jambi Police Traffic Director Kombes Dhafi said that his party sent letters to the addresses of each vehicle owner to be able to follow up by paying taxes.

"For vehicles that are tax-dead over 2 years, this August we will start writing them to pay taxes," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 2.

So far, the Jambi Regional Police Ditlantas and the Jambi Provincial Government have made it easier for the public to pay taxes by bleaching from September 2022 to April 2023.

However, there are still several vehicles that are still tax-dead, so in August 2023 a letter was given according to the address on the vehicle to pay taxes.

If 3 months after sending the letter there is no follow-up and no information from the vehicle owner, the data will be deleted.

"The data in Samsat we deleted, but the vehicle data is still in the Jambi Police Ditlantas database," he said.

He emphasized that this was an effort to increase community compliance to pay vehicle taxes and increase local revenue (PAD).

Previously reported, through the motor vehicle bleaching program in Jambi Province which took place from September 2022 to March 2023, it managed to exceed the realization target.

The realization of vehicle taxes through bleaching reached more than Rp49 billion, while the realization target was Rp40 billion.
