SULTRA - Director of Drug Investigation at the Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) Police Commissioner Bambang Tjahjo Bawono said the 4.3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine confiscated in Konawe was suspected to have come from the Southeast Sulawesi-Aceh drug network.

"This item is a route from Aceh that enters Southeast Sulawesi by air. Then it enters the city of Kendari and is distributed to areas, including Konawe," he said in Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi, Friday, June 2, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the illicit goods when they arrived in Kendari City were very large, but had been divided into parts by the dealer or main boss who is currently being chased by the police.

"So this item is actually one and we believe that this item is actually a lot but has been divided like this and this is specifically for sales in the Konawe area," he said.

Previously, the Konawe Resort Police (Polres) arrested a man with the initials JM (24) in Konawe, Tuesday, May 30 evening. From JM's arrest, 4.3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine was secured.

"JM was secured by the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Konawe Police in Inolobunggadue Village, Unaaha District, Konawe Regency, on Tuesday night (May 30) at around 10:00 WITA," said Konawe Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner (AKBP) Ahmad Setiadi by telephone.

He revealed that the arrest of the suspect was based on public reports when holding the Friday Curhat Program, where there was frequent abuse of illegal drugs in Inolobunggadue Village by JM.

Receiving the report, the Police Chief said the Narcotics Satres Team led by the Narcotics Head Iptu Asriady made observations and followed-up observations which then made arrests witnessed by RT and RW of Inolobunggadue Village.

He said that after a search was carried out, the Narcotics Satres Team secured evidence (BB) in the form of a cellphone, a digital silver scale, a suction device (bong), and 33.50 grams which were suspected of being wrapped in cigarette packs.

Setiadi explained that his party then carried out developments and received instructions and searched one of the warehouses not far from the first crime scene.

"Approximately half an hour later we got a larger target (evidence) of approximately 4.3 kilograms," he said.

As a result of his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) subsidiary to Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of a sentence of six years in prison and a maximum of life.
