The Governor of South Sulawesi signed the official inscription of TPI Beba in Takalar Regency, Friday, (10/2/2023) (ANTARA)

South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman inaugurated the construction and rehabilitation of the Beba Fish Auction Place (TPI) located in North Galesong District, Takalar Regency.

The inauguration of the 2022 construction was marked by the signing of the inscription by Governor Andi Sudirman at the Takalar DPRD Plenary Meeting in the context of 63 Years of Takalar Regency at H Makkatang Field, Dg Sibali, Friday.

"Alhamdulillah, inaugurate the construction/rehabilitation of TPI Beba Takalar. Hopefully it will be useful for fishermen," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 10.

The development of TPI Beba is one of the concerns of the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of South Sulawesi (Sulsel) due to the damaged condition of TPI Beba.

For 2022, a budget of around Rp. 4.5 billion has been allocated for rehabilitation and complementing the facilities and infrastructure of the Beba TPI.

This year, he said, construction will resume in supporting TPI Beba, in the form of breaking water construction or wave break-breaking worth IDR 18.5 billion, as well as a number of other supporting facilities with a total allocation this year of IDR 21.4 billion.

Thus, the total budget allocation during 2022 and 2023 for the construction and rehabilitation of TPI Beba is worth IDR 26 billion.

"God willing, this year construction will resume, especially breakwaters or breakwaters. With the presence of breakwater to prevent abrasion, the Beba TPI building will not be damaged due to abrasion," he explained.

"We know that Takalar is one of the areas with abundant fisheries and marine products. It is hoped that this Beba TPI will benefit our fishermen in Takalar," said Governor Andi Sudirman.
