JAKARTA - Google announced the update of Chrome permission controls for Android. This update aims to make per-site permissions easier to access, manage to make it faster to change what information can and cannot be accessed by the sites users visit.

Although only launched on Android, Google said operating systems based on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome OS will come in the coming weeks, as compiled from The Verge, Wednesday, July 21.

According to Google, this option makes it easier for users to track individual site permissions. By tapping the lock icon in the address bar, users will be able to see if they have given the website access to location, microphone, camera and other sensitive information. Users can also easily enable or disable it.

In the coming weeks, Google is also planning to add an option that will allow users to delete web pages from their browser history. Google revealed that these updated site controls will roll out first to Android phone and tablet versions of Chrome before moving on to other platforms later.

Apart from that, the company is also launching a new Chrome Action. In fact, this option was first introduced last year. How it works, users can type in the address bar to quickly access the features.

For example, users can write "clear history" to clear their browsing data. Later, a new security check feature will tell Chrome to audit user passwords, as well as scan for malicious extensions. Chrome will also soon allow users to type "manage security settings" and "manage sync" to access the relevant controls mentioned in the feature.

Google has also made improvements to its phishing protection, which the tech giant claims is 50 times faster and uses less battery life. Can't wait to try out this feature, be patient, because Google promises to launch it in the next few weeks.
