JAKARTA - Google provides several small updates to Google Meet. Where now, in Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode, you can do more than ever before.

Previously in PiP mode, maybe you could only turn the camera on or off, and let the meeting from the PiP window float on your laptop or smartphone screen.

"We are updating the Google Meet picture-in-picture experience to make it more attractive and feature-rich," wrote the announcement on the Google Workspace blog.

However, the search giant said on its blog that the update coming to Google Meet's PiP mode will provide greater flexibility for its users.

"Our new Picture-in-Picture experience provides greater flexibility when sharing screens or navigating to relevant screens for a more dynamic experience," the company added.

After the update, in Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode, you can now do some of these activities:

  • Raise hands
  • Use it in meeting chats
  • Turn text on and off
  • More effectively resizing the Picture-in-Picture view
  • Flexible layout access

Furthermore, Google says that this update is now available for Google Meet on the Chrome browser, and will roll out more widely over the next few weeks.

Google shows exactly how this update works, in the GIF we can see where a user is composing an email while still being able to see their friends and stay present in the video chat.
