Says He's Not Under Pressure To Replace Ramos, Alaba: I Feel Honored To Wear Number Four

"We all know Ramos has been here for a long time and wears this number, being the leader of this team," he told a news conference at Madrid's introduction.

"However, the reality is yesterday I spoke to the club and they told me that at the moment only number four is available, and I don't want to start asking other players to swap numbers with them.

"I'm honored to wear number four, it's a source of great pride and motivation for me, and I want to do it fairly.

"However, I am not here to compare myself to other players or replace them: I am here to remain David Alaba," said the 29-year-old.

Alaba has signed a five-year contract with Madrid, having previously spent his entire senior career with Bayern.
