Pretending To Be A Buyer And Then Hiding Until Indomaret Closes, A Man In Buleleng Steals 20 Packs Of Cigarettes And Cosmetics

BULELENG - Putu M aka Yogi (24) was caught stealing 20 packs of cigarettes at Indomaret Ahmad Yani Street, Buleleng, Bali. The perpetrator initially pretended to be a buyer and then went into hiding or hiding until the minimarket closed.

"When he was arrested, evidence was found in the form of 7 packs of red Marlboro cigarettes, 13 packs of shampoo and beauty cosmetics", said Singaraja City Police Chief Kompol Dewa Darma, Monday, July 26.

The theft case was discovered when an Indomaret employee named Putu Martin, suspected that someone was inside the minimarket. Just then the supermarket alarm rang.

This employee immediately called the police until the police arrived at the location.

The police then headed upstairs which was dark. The police warned the perpetrators to get out of the small hiding place.

"Some of the windows were open and it turned out that the perpetrator was hiding in the door on the stairs leading to the second floor. When asked to leave, the perpetrator did not want to come out so the door was broken and the perpetrator was pinned so that he could be disabled", he added.

Police said the perpetrators initially pretended to shop at Indomaret and then sneaked upstairs. He hid in the door of the stairs leading to the second floor.

Furthermore, the perpetrator stole when the shop was closed when Indomaret employees came home.

"The alleged perpetrator is suspected of committing the crime of theft with a weight as referred to in the formulation of Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 7 years in prison", said Kompol Darma.
