JAKARTA - Bogor Resort Police (Polres) and West Java Police arrested two "Elang Eyes" gangs who claimed to be debt collectors from a financing institution (leasing) operating in the Bogor Regency area.

"They (suspects) led the victim to a leasing office. Then the victim was asked to sign the report on the vehicle withdrawal on a blank with an empty letterhead," said Bogor Police Chief AKBP Harun during a press conference at the Bogor Police Headquarters, Cibinong, Bogor, as reported by Antara. , Friday, July 23.

Bogor Police personnel arrested three suspects from the first plot, namely DS, JHM, and TSM. Then, one of the other suspects, ST is still being chased and is on the wanted list (DPO).

"After getting the targeted motorbike, they pawned it to someone who is usually called Pak Haji for Rp. 1.5 million. Then it was divided into four," said Harun.

Then, from the second plot, the Bogor Police arrested one suspect with the initials R, and five other suspects were still on the job.

"Initially he refused and did not admit his actions. But based on the CCTV footage when we took the motorbike and the attributes worn by the perpetrators, we finally secured it. In the second case, there are six suspects. But five are still DPOs," he said. According to him, the two gangs were after vehicles. who are in arrears on credit installments, then ask the victim to hand over the motorcycle.

Harun said they were targeting their prey, namely teenagers and felt weak in legal knowledge. The reason is, the withdrawal of motorized vehicles on the highway is an unlawful act and is classified as confiscation.

The four Eyes of the Eagle, which were successfully secured by the police, are now charged with Article 368 of the Criminal Code, namely acts of confiscation, fraud and embezzlement with threats of nine years in prison.
