SURABAYA - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa stated that the free oxygen refill service depot is ready to open 24 hours to meet the needs of the community, especially those who are self-isolating due to exposure to COVID-19.

"This service is specifically for residents who are self-isolating (isoman) and ambulances," said Khofifah at the Grahadi State building in Surabaya, Friday, July 17.

According to him, the need for oxygen for hospitals and isomen in the local area has indeed increased quite significantly.

The free oxygen service will be launched on Saturday, July 17, 2021 in Surabaya, then Sunday, July 18, Sidoarjo, and Monday, July 19 in Gresik.

People who need it are required to register via the "infocovid19.jatimprov.go.id" page, or contact the call center 1500117.

In Surabaya, refill depots are centered at the East Java Transportation Service Office on Jalan Ahmad Yani 268, then in Sidoarjo at the UPT PPD Sidoarjo Office on Jalan Pahlawan 41, then in Gresik it is located at the New Samsat (Dishub Lama Uji KIR) on Jalan DR Wahidin 714.

Every day, said Khofifah, 500 cubic meters are provided or 500 oxygen cylinders measuring 1 cubic meter are provided for each service point.

"In the future we hope for other areas. The provincial government will synergize with related parties to supply oxygen to the community," said Governor Khofifah.

Meanwhile, the East Java Provincial Government received oxygen assistance from several companies, such as PT Pertamina Gas as much as 50 tons of oxygen on Wednesday, July 14 which was used for medical purposes in hospitals and for isoman residents.

Next, 9 tons of liquid oxygen from the National Disaster Task Force of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) in East Java were handed over at Grahadi.

"Hopefully this assistance can help friends, relatives and anyone who is currently struggling with illness due to COVID-19," said Khofifah.
