KJP Plus Recipients Cut Phase II 2024: DKI Provincial Government Admits Budget Restrictions And Strict Selection

According to the latest data, the number of recipients of the KJP Plus phase II 2024 experienced significant cuts, namely as many as 146,000 students were dropped from the list of recipients. Now, the education assistance is only targeting 523,622 students.

The Acting Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office, Sarjoko, stated that the reduction in the number of KJP Plus phase II recipients occurred due to budget constraints in the 2024 APBD.

"There has been a decrease in the budget ceiling, so the number of KJP Plus recipients in the second phase has decreased compared to the first stage," said Sarjoko in his statement, Monday, December 16.

Sarjoko explained that the budget constraints made the DKI Provincial Government have to carry out strict selection based on the priority scale. One of the instruments used to select recipients is the Socio-Economic Registration (Regsosek) data, which ranks the welfare of the community in the form of decile.

"The parameter we use is data on improving welfare. With this data, we can determine which prospective recipients are more priority to get KJP Plus assistance," explained Sarjoko.

In addition to budget factors, there are a number of students who are declared no longer meeting the criteria for KJP Plus recipients phase II 2024. Some of the reasons for the deletion are as follows:

1. Not included in the category of poor people and poor people. 2. Resign voluntarily. 3. Have a four-wheeled vehicle (car). 4. Have assets in the form of land or buildings with a tax object (NJOP) selling value of more than IDR 1 billion. 5. Violating the prohibition as a recipient of KJP Plus social assistance.

Sarjoko added that this policy was carried out so that the KJP Plus budget allocation could be more targeted, in accordance with the socio-economic conditions of students who really needed it.

Criticized by Parents Students The reduction in the number of KJP Plus recipients phase II sparked protests from many students' parents. Some admitted that they were confused because their economic status had not changed since stage I, but suddenly dropped from the list of beneficiaries.

One of the students' parents, Anita, who lives in the East Jakarta area, admitted that she was disappointed because her child no longer received KJP Plus assistance. "We still feel that we still need this assistance. If you use welfare data, is it true that the data is accurate?" he complained.

Meskipun demikian, Sarjoko menegaskan bahwa Pemprov DKI akan terus memonitor dan memperbarui data penerima bantuan agar lebih sesuai dengan kondisi lapangan. Ia juga berharap masyarakat dapat memahami bahwa kebijakan ini diambil untuk memastikan bantuan tersalurkan kepada yang paling membutuhkan.

"Kami meminta masyarakat yang keberatan untuk melapor melalui kanal pengaduan resmi Pemprov DKI. Semua keluhan akan kami evaluasi, selama itu memang terkait ketidaksesuaian data atau kekeliruan administrasi," tutupnya.
