SEMARANG - Semarang Prison Officer, Central Java, thwarted the smuggling of 12 grams of methamphetamine by a female visitor.

Head of Semarang Headquarters Abdul Madjid said the perpetrator with the initials N was arrested when he arrived during visiting hours.

"The perpetrator came to meet the inmates with the initials VN who is his lover," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 14.

The methamphetamine, which was accommodated in the 14 plastic clips, was obtained by the perpetrator from a VN friend.

The officers secured N after being suspicious of his movements when he came to make a visit.

The perpetrator had arrived on Wednesday, March 13, but was not allowed to enter because it was not a visiting day.

"The perpetrators came back today to make visits that came as followers of other visitors," he said.

The perpetrators and evidence of methamphetamine were then handed over to the Directorate of Drug Investigation of the Central Java Police for further investigation.
