BANJARBARU - Mayor of Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan Muhammad Aditya Mufti Ariffin said the central government had approved the construction of new road access to Syamsudin Noor International Airport.
Adita said the central government had issued Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 6 of 2023 concerning project work budget allocations.
"Alhamdulillah, the construction of a new road access to Syamsudin Noor Airport has received central government budget support, the land is ready. Hopefully, it can be realized soon and in the future it can benefit the community," Aditya said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, June 3.
The central government has allocated a budget of IDR 462 billion for the construction of new road access to Syamsudin Noor Airport.
Aditya said that the Presidential Instruction also indicated that the construction of road access to the airport located in Syamsudin Noor Village received approval from the central government which would disburse funds through the Ministry of PUPR.

Head of Highways Division of the Banjarbaru City PUPR Office, Adi Maulana, explained that the XI National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) for the South Kalimantan Region will build new access roads for the airport.
"The Banjarbaru PUPR Service is involved in the land acquisition team for land acquisition. Even though the land acquisition budget is also from the South Kalimantan Provincial Government and the acquisition process has been completed, it is just a matter of building the road," said Adi.
Adi said the budget disbursed by the central government of Rp. 462 billion was not absolute for one road construction project, but there was another road construction to be carried out.
The location for the airport road construction proposed by the PUPR Office of Banjarbaru City and the South Kalimantan Provincial Government is connected from the North Ring Road access to Syamsudin Noor Airport to a new road in Guntung Payung Village, to Jalan Jenderal Ahmad Yani, not far from the grave of Bear Island.
"The new road that will be built, is about three kilometers long with a width of 50 meters from Jalan Jenderal Ahmad Yani to the intersection road to enter airport access. The problem with the construction of new road access is because people have difficulty finding access to the airport," he said.
