BIAK - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini distributed assistance for community empowerment in the form of 1,000 pig seeds, one unit of ice factories and 1,000 pairs of clothing for residents of Biak Numfor Regency, Papua Province.

The symbolic handover of community empowerment assistance was carried out by the Minister of Social Affairs to the Regent of Biak Numfor Herry Ario Naap and continued to residents who received assistance.

The Minister of Social Affairs hopes that empowerment assistance for the community is expected to improve the economy of Biak Numfor residents.

He also hopes that the assistance provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs can develop to support the economic activities of the Biak Numfor community.

"Hopefully the assistance for empowering the Biak Numfor community can be managed properly in order to generate a more prosperous family income," said TriRismaharini as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 1.

Meanwhile, Biak Regent Numfor Herry Ario Naap said the Biak Numfor Regency Government was committed to developing community economic empowerment in various villages and islands.

The Regent hopes that with the support of community empowerment assistance disbursed by the Ministry of Social Affairs, specifically for pigs to Biak residents can continue to grow in fulfilling the demands of other regions in Papua.

"On behalf of the people of Biak Numfor Regency, I would like to thank you for the distribution of the community empowerment assistance program from the Ministry of Social Affairs which was immediately handed over by Social Minister Tri Rismaharini," he said.

After handing over the aid, the Minister of Social Affairs accompanied by Regent Herry Naap and Deputy Regent Calvin visited MSME outlets for various food, agriculture and fishery products as well as clothing designers for SMKP YPK 2 students.
