JAKARTA - Director of Domestic Hajj Services at the Ministry of Religion Saiful Mujab said pilgrims for Hajj candidates will receive life insurance and accident insurance that has been attached since entering the dormitory, departure time, and when they are still in the dormitory during their repatriation.

"If after entering the dormitory, death, the congregation gets insurance according to the Bipih (Hajj Travel Biaya) deposited. If there is an accident, there is a calculation. Last year there was no accident insurance, this year there is," said Saiful at the Hajj Dormitory. Indramayu, West Java, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, May 6.

Saiful said that apart from the two insurances, prospective pilgrims also received additional insurance during flights. Hajj pilgrims who die on the plane will receive insurance of IDR 125 million.

"This is part of the congregation's protection efforts," he said.

Saiful said the implementation of this year's Hajj had major challenges. In addition to the number returning to normal, around 67 thousand of the 210 thousand prospective pilgrims are elderly pilgrims (elderly).

The Ministry of Religion, he said, continues to strengthen special officers who will handle the elderly. Another preparation process is to prepare the elderly Hajj and Umrah manasik guidebooks. This book will serve as a guide in the implementation of the rituals of the elderly pilgrims, both at the District/City Ministry of Religion and the District Office of Religious Affairs (KUA).

"Moreover, this year there will be no more assistants for the elderly and the merger of mahram. So we will strengthen it from the side of the officers," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the West Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion, Ajam Mustak, said there were 36,361 Hajj candidates from 27 regencies/cities in West Java. They are divided into two embarkations, namely Bekasi and Indramayu.

A total of 30,235 Hajj candidates from 20 regencies/cities in West Java will depart from the Bekasi Embarkation. They are divided into 72 flying groups (kloters).

Meanwhile, 8,968 other Hajj candidates will depart from the Indramayu Embarkation in 24 groups. They come from Cirebon Regency, Cirebon City, Majalengka Regency, Indramayu Regency, Kuningan Regency, Subang Regency, and Sumedang Regency.

Of the total hajj candidates, 1,935 of them are in the elderly category with an age range of 81-100 years.

"The oldest is 105 years old," said Ajam.

Asked about the readiness of the Indramayu Hajj Dormitory which will be used for the first time, Ajam said that the building was ready to accept pilgrims and only needed to be improved in terms of facilities.

"We have prepared two towers in the Indramayu Hajj dormitory with 200 rooms. Each room has a capacity of four people so that the total can accommodate 800 worshipers," he said.
