JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that the lawyer for the inactive Papua Governor Lukas Enembe, Stefanus Roy Rening, was suspected of obstructing the investigation because he gave misleading suggestions. One of them, he allegedly asked his client not to cooperate in the legal process.

"As for indications of obstruction that was allegedly carried out, among others, by providing advice to the suspect LE to be uncooperative in the legal process carried out by the KPK," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, April 3.

Even so, Ali did not want to specify the form of the suggestion. Including, the possibility of asking Lukas to admit to being seriously ill.

Ali only said that investigators were still collecting evidence and deepening witness testimony. This process will then be continued with forced detention.

"At the time of the investigation, an announcement will be made of the suspect's identity along with a complete construction of his alleged actions. The progress will be conveyed," he said.

Previously, the KPK asked the Directorate General of Immigration to prevent the lawyer for the inactive Papua Governor Lukas Enembe, Stefanus Roy Rening and three other people from leaving the country. This prevention is carried out so that the four people are cooperative when needed information.

"Yes, in order to remain at home and cooperate, attend to fulfill the summons of the investigation team," said Ali Fikri when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, April 26.

Apart from Stefanus, the three other people who were prevented had not been detailed by Ali. He only said that two people were private parties while the other was civil servants (PNS).

However, based on information circulating, those prevented were Fredrik Banne who is an employee of PT Tabi Bangun Papua; Head of PUPR Papua Province, Gerius One Yoman; and Commissioner of PT Nirwana Sukman.

After being prevented, the four of them are expected to fulfill the summons of the anti-corruption commission investigator.
