Mother Maya's Killer Turned Out To Be Her Maid's Husband

JAKARTA - The Bogor Police of the West Java Regional Police uncovered the case of finding a body in a well in Ciriung, Cibinong, Bogor Regency, and confirmed that the late Atikotul Mahya (28) alias Mother Maya was killed.

"Within 26 hours the Cibinong Police Criminal Investigation Unit succeeded in uncovering the perpetrators of the corpse find, due to our hard work and the evidence at the TKP (scene of the case) and the victim's cellphone that led to the perpetrator," said the Head of Cibinong Police, AKP I Kadek Vemil when met at his office, reported by Antara, Wednesday, November 4.

According to him, the perpetrator with the initials KA (39) who was the husband of the victim's assistant was arrested by the buser team on Wednesday afternoon while shopping at a shop near his house, without any resistance.

Kadek stated that the perpetrator's arrest was based on tracing the victim's cellphone which was sold for Rp. 700 thousand by the perpetrator to residents of a neighboring village still in Cibinong District.

"The victim's cellphone has changed hands. But, before selling, the perpetrator had time to turn on the cellphone at the place where he was selling," explained Kadek.

As is known, the body of Mother Maya was first found by residents of Citatah Dalam Village, RT 05/04, Ciriung Village, Cibinong District, Edi Mulyana (43) who was her neighbor on Tuesday (3/11) morning, after the deceased was found missing since Sunday, November 1st evening.

Edi found Mother Maya's body naked in a well which is covered with concrete. At that time he was about to check the water pump line.

"The husband of the victim said, when he was checked in the house after returning from the Prophet's birthday, his wife was not at home. In fact, his cellphone and Rp. 500 thousand were not there," said Edi when met at the crime scene (TKP).
