JAKARTA PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk. further widening business expansion this year by providing convenience for pilgrims who want to transact on the holy land through the Shar-E Debit Muamalat card facility.

Bank Muamalat President Director Indra Falatehan said the facilities offered could be used at ATM and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machines bearing the VISA/Plus logo in Saudi Arabia.

According to him, this card can also be used at ATM machines owned by Bank Al Rajhi spread across Makkah, Medina and Jeddah.

"The advantage of this Shar-E Debit card is that there is an Indonesian language transaction option when transacting at ATMs. Of course, this is very useful and provides added value to Bank Muamalat customers who perform the pilgrimage in the holy land, in line with our commitment to always contribute to the success of organizing the pilgrimage," he said in a written statement on Wednesday, May 31.

Indra explained, every cash withdrawal transaction at ATMs with the VISA/Plus logo in Saudi Arabia, customers get a cash withdrawal subsidy (maximum three times a month for the Shar-E Debit Ihram card) with a competitive exchange rate.

There is also a shopping subsidy that applies in shops/mechants bearing the VISA/Plus logo with applicable terms and conditions.

Indra added that this Muamalat debit card can be used to transact online at various e-commerce/online shops with security features that have been certified by the Verified by VISA Secure Code (VISA).

He explained that the transaction security in this feature uses 3D Secure technology with One Time Password (OTP) validation in the form of 6 digit PIN sent via SMS.

The purpose of the OTP is to ensure the safety of transactions between merchants and customers as if they were transacting face-to-face.

"We also have iB Hijrah Hajj Savings so that customers and their families can save early on, and can worship with excellent conditions at a young age," he concluded.
