TM Ragunan Optimizes Virtual Tours To Treat People's Longing For Various Animals
JAKARTA - The implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) has not deterred the South Jakarta Ragunan Wildlife Park Management from optimizing their performance. One of them is through innovation by optimizing virtual tourism for the community through live social media broadcasts (Instagram), @ragunanzoo.
Information and Public Relations Service Staff of the Ragunan Wildlife Park Wahyudi Bambang said that his party was doing this so that visitors could still enjoy animal tourism during PPKM Level 4 which will last until July 25, 2021.
"During the current pandemic or PPKM, we remain open and hold activities to treat the longing of visitors with live Instagram every week. The schedule is uncertain, yes, sometimes on Wednesday or Friday or other days," said Wahyudi Bambang in Jakarta, Sunday, July 25.
In addition to "treating" longing, Bambang explained that this activity also aims to educate the public to know more about the types of animals that exist in the Ragunan Wildlife Park.
“Live Instagram is done together with the animals who interact with each other with the team. What is clear is that we peel the animals, then there will be a host, including the animal nurse. Then for those who want to know more about the animals, we accept direct questions through the comments column," said Bambang.
During PPKM, the Ragunan management does not open face-to-face services, including tourists who want to visit.

"So, during this restriction, we only serve visitors through social media. And no tourists are allowed to enter the Ragunan Wildlife Garden area," he said.
Bambang also admitted that his party will open the service directly if there is an instruction from the government that does not extend the mobility restriction.
