Wins Bronze, Windy Cantika Donates First Medal For Indonesia At The 2020 Olympics
JAKARTA - Indonesian women's lifter Windy Cantika Aisah became the first medal contributor for the Red and White team at the Tokyo Olympics.
Windy who dropped in the 49kg class won a bronze medal after registering a total lift of 194kg, with a snatch of 84kg and a clean and jerk of 110kg, according to the official Olympic records.
While the gold medal was won by Chinese lifter Hou Zhihui who posted a total lift of 210kg (94kg snap and 116kg clean and jerk).
Indian lifter Chanu Mirabai is entitled to a silver medal after registering a total lift of 202kg with a snatch of 87kg and a clean and jerk of 115kg.
In her debut at the Olympics, Windy Cantika had to fail first when she made an 84kg snatch in the first attempt. He was only able to lift the 84kg barbell on the second occasion.
Unfortunately, Windy failed again when he tried to increase his lifting load to 87kg on the third try.
Luckily, this failure was immediately compensated for when he performed clean and jerk lifts. Windy did not find any significant obstacles when performing clean and jerk lifts on three occasions. The 19-year-old athlete easily lifted the lift starting with 103kg, 108kg, up to 110kg, and secured a bronze medal for Indonesia.
