Police Examine Person In Charge Of Eternal Funeral Home For Allegedly Rising Cremation Costs During The Pandemic

JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Metro Police investigated two people who are in charge of the Eternal Funeral Home. This examination is related to the alleged game of cremation fees during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Currently, the manager is being questioned," said West Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief Commissioner Joko Dwi Harsono when confirmed, Wednesday, July 21.

However, Joko refused to reveal the identity of the two. Just to confirm, the inspection has been going on since 10:00 WIB

"They have been questioned since 10 o'clock and there are two people being questioned by the police," he said.

Previously, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Agus Andrianto, said that his party had investigated the increase in cremation fees during the COVID-19 pandemic. The price increase is thought to have been caused by irresponsible people.

"Yes, (information on the cost of cremation) is being investigated," said Komjen Agus

During the investigation process, the investigative team has scheduled an examination of several parties. It's just that, due to the pandemic period and the Emergency PPKM rules that limit mobility, the inspection process is slightly hampered.

"On the way to invite clarification, the PPKM situation has a grace period. Be patient," said Agus.
