Firli Bahuri Talks About The Prophet's Example On Eid Al-Adha: Prophet Muhammad Only Reluctant To Pray For Corrupt Bodies

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri believes that the example set by the family of Prophet Ibrahim AS can be used as a solution to avoid corrupt behavior in Indonesia.

"It is not an exaggeration if we judge the essence, meaning, and values of life from the example given by the family of Prophet Ibrahim AS as a solution to the big problem of our nation, namely latent corruption and corrupt behavior that is still entrenched in this Republic," said Firli in his statement. in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, July 20.

The stories of Prophet Ibrahim AS, Siti Hajar, and Prophet Ismail AS provide many good examples for human life about the meaning and significance of sacrifice, obedience, sincerity and extraordinary courage and strong determination to carry out Allah's commands and stay away from all His prohibitions.

"This country needs the nation's children who have extraordinary courage like Ismail, Siti Hajar's true willingness and sincerity, the determination of the whole heart and soul of a father named Ibrahim in the Battle of Badr against corruption that has plagued this country," said Firli.

Reflecting on the family of Prophet Ibrahim AS and Eid al-Adha, he said this should be used as a momentum to distance himself from corrupt behavior and eliminate greed.

Firli said that from the perspective of Islamic history, a hadith narration even mentions that the Prophet Muhammad was reluctant to pray for the body of someone who embezzled property.

"The reason the Prophet Muhammad was reluctant to pray for the corpse of the soldier was that the deceased had embezzled property that was not his right. However, the Messenger of Allah ordered his companions to pray for the body of the deceased before being buried," he said

He hopes that the examples from the stories of Prophet Ibrahim AS, Prophet Ismail AS, and Prophet Muhammad SAW will make people join the struggle against corruption in Indonesia.
