JAKARTA - Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, said that the DPR will close the trial period by making a decision on the Bill on the Second Amendment to Law Number 21 of 2001 concerning Special Autonomy for the Papua Province (Otsus Papua).

"This bill is the bill that our brothers and sisters in Papua have been waiting for," said Puan Maharani in Jakarta, Thursday, July 15. The closing plenary session of the V DPR RI Session Year 2020-2021 will start at 10.30 WIB. . Puan said, the meeting will be attended by members of the Council virtually and physically, by implementing strict health protocols. .

In addition to the ratification of the Papua Special Autonomy Bill, other agendas for today's plenary meeting are Submission of the Bill on Accountability for the Implementation of the State Budget for Fiscal Year 2020 by the Government; The report of Commission VII DPR RI on the results of the fit and proper test of the Candidates for Chair and Members of the BPH Migas Committee for the 2021-2025 term of office, followed by Decision Making; and Approval of the Application for Consideration of the Granting of Citizenship of the Republic of Indonesia followed by Decision Making. In addition, there was the submission of the Opinions of the Factions on a number of Bills on the Proposed Initiative of the Legislative Body of the DPR RI, and the determination of the extension of the time for the discussion of the Bill on amendments to Law Number 5 of 2014 concerning State Civil Apparatus.
