Throughout 2022, PLN Records 1.185 Electricity In Se-Nusantara Villages
PT PLN (Persero) is recorded to be able to electrify 1,185 villages and hamlets throughout 2022. This effort is a form of PLN's commitment to provide electricity for all Indonesian people to remote areas of the country.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said PLN continues to accelerate village electricity programs so that all villages including the 3T (frontier, outermost and underdeveloped) areas in Indonesia can enjoy electricity in 2024.
"Electric access is an important need for all Indonesian people. PLN continues to strive for the development of electricity in the area as a form of practice of the 5th precept of Pancasila, namely social justice for all Indonesian people. This is a tangible manifestation of the state being present for those in the 3T area," Darmawan said in an official statement, Saturday, June 10.
Darmawan detailed that PLN throughout 2022 has carried out various accelerations to increase the electrification ratio and also the electricity village ratio. Until March 2023, the realization of national electrification reached 99.66 percent while the ratio of electricity villages reached 99.80 percent. "Currently, those who have not been electrified are very remote areas, thus requiring large investment costs," said Darmawan.
Darmawan detailed that PLN requires an investment fee of IDR 25 to IDR 45 million per customer. The amount of this investment is not feasible in the commercial business, but with the support of the government, PLN continues to strive for the development of electricity in this village.
"We express our gratitude to the government for providing state capital participation (PMN), where the participation is used to present electricity to our brothers and sisters in the 3T area," added Darmawan.
Efforts to pursue this target PLN is taking aggressive steps in infrastructure development. PLN is also transforming the village electricity program so that its achievements are more accelerated.
Through the village electricity transformation, PLN succeeded in mapping programs that were more comprehensive. In the past, mapping unelectriced areas was still carried out by PLN units manually using various tools. Monitoring is still carried out through data collection through direct location surveys that take time and are fragmented.
Now with digital transformation, the village electricity planning system is built digitally based through the Geographic Information System (GIS). PLN is able to provide a much more comprehensive planning system. Digital location mapping is able to calculate the distance, altitude and other data used to present projective data for village electricity infrastructure needs.
With this digitization, PLN is able to develop village development planning more quickly and accurately. All PLN units now have tools for mapping the potential of village electricity that are uniform, unified and can be monitored in real time.
"With this transformation, our commitment to electrify all corners of the country can be accelerated. Every citizen in this republic has the right to access fair electricity. Nobody left behind," said Darmawan.
Although currently there are still challenges in the form of access to isolated areas, PLN is optimistic that it will be able to electrify all villages by 2024. PLN will continue to build electricity infrastructure to 3T areas. In addition, PLN will also utilize local natural resources as a source of electrical energy.
"We encourage the construction of EBT plants by utilizing local potential, such as the use of PLTS, PLTM and battery storage systems. The use of local energy will make the cost of building and providing electricity more efficient," added Darmawan.
Darmawan explained that with the presence of electricity in remote areas, it is able to provide a multiplier effect for the community. Through reliable access to electricity, it can improve health services, improve education services and also improve the people's economy.
"As the heart of Indonesia's economy, PLN's electricity will be the driving force for economic growth to villages," concluded Darmawan.
