KP大臣:サンドシー輸出の最後の選択肢

BATAM - Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono revealed that sea sand exports are the last option in (PP) Number 26 of 2023 concerning Management of sedimentation Results in the Sea.

In the PP, the government prioritizes the management of sea products sedimentation for domestic reclamation needs.

"I don't think it's export (the main thing). I think he manages sedimentation so that reclamation in the country should not use other than sedimentation," said Trenggono in Batam, Riau Islands, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, June 9.

According to him, the Government Regulation, which was promulgated on May 15, is needed to manage domestic sea sand dredging, which has not been regulated by the government so far.

According to him, this is more important so that there is no illegal and massive marine sand extraction, including sand extraction from the island.

"If not (ordered) then all games will be taken for the sake of reclamation. Remember yes. I'm not talking about exports," he explained.

Meanwhile, the regulations that have recently attracted the attention of the public have not been implemented because the derivative regulations in the form of Ministerial Regulation (Permen) do not yet exist.

"Not yet (derivative regulations/Ministerial Regulations). PP cannot run if there is no Ministerial Regulation and others," he added.

In the future, in the process of utilizing the results of sea sand sedimentation, a study team will be determined to consist of the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Transportation, Hydro-Oceanography Center, academics, and non-governmental organizations related to the environment.

PP Number 26 of 2023 concerning Management of sedimentation Results in the Sea allows sea sand to be exported abroad.

This is stated in Article 9 paragraph 2, the use of sedimentation in the form of sea sand is used for domestic reclamation, government infrastructure development, infrastructure development by business actors and/or exports as long as domestic needs are met and in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.
