通信情報大臣代理は、政府がBTSプロジェクトを継続することを確実にする

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs as well as Acting Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Mahfud MD ensured that the Base Tranceiver Station (BTS) construction project would continue.

"The BTS program should be continued. In other words, what I heard was not completed, but continued," Mahfud said in a working meeting with Commission I of the DPR, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 5.

Mahfud conveyed a number of directions from President Joko Widodo to himself when he was appointed as pltmenkominfo. First, said Mahfud, ensure that the legal process runs fairly.

"That's really a legal case," he added.

Second, Mahfud said he received orders to continue the BTS project. Jokowi also asked Mahfud to oversee the leadership in Kominfo until there were definitive officials.

"Manajerial di kantor, hari-hari saya mengawal para pejabat utama ini hingga nanti ditunjuknya menteri peminister yang definitive," jelasnya.

Before attending a working meeting with the DPR Commission, Mahfud had summoned the Inspector General of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics Arief Tri Hardiyanto, Sunday (4/6) night, to explain this matter.

"Last night I deliberately called the Inspector General to my house, I want to know this settlement scheme. This is something that must be continued, it must not stop," he said.

Mahfud explained several things that became the thought where money was withdrawn again from the bank because it was used as collateral. Then, there is billing because the money has come out, but the goods are not yet available.

However, he continued, there were actually some items that needed to be emitted. He said that in the future he would review the contracts that had been established.

"We will review the contract. The contract will be reviewed. It must be continued," said Mahfud.

Previously, the Attorney General's Office (AGO) investigators named seven people as suspects in the alleged corruption case in the provision of BTS infrastructure and supporting infrastructure for Kominfo for the 2020-2022 period, causing state financial losses of IDR 8.32 trillion.
