BANJARBARU - As many as 50 personnel from the joint team of the South Kalimantan Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and volunteers jumped into the location of forest and land fires (Karhutla) in ring 1 (a fire-prone area), namely Syamsudin Noor Airport.
A fire engulfed about five hectares of land in Landasan Ulin Barat Village, Liang Anggang District, Banjarbaru City.
"We received the report at around 13.00 WITA and the team arrived at the location for about 30 minutes," said the coordinator of the South Kalimantan BPBD team, Baihaqi Saputra, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 3.
Baihaqi said the task force team managed to extinguish the forest and land fires at around 16:40 WITA.
"We have 50 joint personnel from the South Kalimantan BPBD, Banjar Regency BPBD and volunteers extinguish the fire in mutual cooperation," he said.
Baihaqi said the team experienced problems while in the field because they were in peat areas and swamps.
The Karhutla report was received starting from the South Kalimantan BPBD Rapid Response Response Response Team (TRC) conducting patrols in ring 1 (a area prone to forest and land fires), namely the Syamsudin Noor Airport area.

Despite experiencing obstacles in the field, his team managed to ensure that the entire fire was extinguished.
Meanwhile, one of the officers in the Rizali field said that his team had no problems so that they could quickly prevent forest and land fires from getting wider.
"Our assumption is that a resident burned a pile of garbage and placed it in the middle of a lot of grass," he said.
