Residents Of South Central Timor NTT Infected With Rabies Become 46 People, 1 Died
NTT - The Regency Government (Pemkab) of South Central Timor (TTS) reported that the number of infected victims due to rabies dog bites increased to 46 people from the previous 20 people.
"Currently, 46 people have died, with details of one person dying," said TTS Regent Egusem Pieter Year from Soe City, TTS, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province, Wednesday, May 31, confiscated by Antara.
He said this was related to the development of the spread of the rabies virus in TTS Regency, which had claimed one victim to die.
Regent Egusem explained that as many as 46 infected people were based on observations from the local district health team which lasted until Tuesday 30 May at TTS.
The victims, he added, came from a number of sub-districts in the district, such as South Amanatun, Nunkolo District, Kie District, Strongana District, Kolbano, and Fautmolo District.

He said that currently 18 people being treated have received vaccines from a quota of 100 vaccines brought by the NTT Provincial Health Office (Dinkes).

While the age range is 50 to 73 years, there are six people. Now he said, his party has isolated the village from the entry and release of rabies-infectious animals (HPR).
He also said that he had designated the rabies incident as an extraordinary incident (KLB). His party has also banned residents from tying HPR.
The local government also added that he cooperated with relevant officials such as the National Police and the TNI to eliminate a number of rabies-infectious animals (HPR) that roam the community.
