Attending Sales Mission In China, The Ministry Of Tourism And Creative Economy Performs A Sales Mission To Realize The Target Of 7.4 Million Tourists
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) is on a sales mission to China to attract more foreign tourists to Indonesia, which this year is targeted to reach 7.4 million visits.
Deputy for Tourism Products and Activities Organizers of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Vinsensius Jemadu said Indonesia had successfully held many international conferences, such as the G20, Investigating, AVPN Global Conference, to the 8th Destination Wedding Planner Congress.
In addition, international exhibitions have been successfully carried out offline and attended by participants from other countries.
For this year, Indonesia is also trusted to host international MICE events, such as the ASEAN Summit, JCI Asia Pacific Congress, to the World Tourism Network.
"This success increases confidence in tourism recovery and attracts more tourists to come to Indonesia, especially business tourists," Vinsensius said in a written statement, Tuesday, April 18.
"This sales mission is to strengthen the MICE sector (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) Indonesia to the Chinese market," he added.
Economic and business growth has rapidly made China a very potential market country to bring in business tourists, both for incentive groups from companies in China and for participation in exhibitions in Indonesia.
Therefore, said Vinsensius, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy encourages Chinese tourism actors to explore and further increase business opportunities and establish partnerships in Indonesia.
Indonesia and China have recently opened direct flights, namely direct flights from Guangzhou to Jakarta by China Southern Airlines and Garuda Indonesia, and Shenzhen to Jakarta by China Southern Airlines.
"This direct flight makes it easier for tourists to connect to big cities in Indonesia, such as Denpasar, Medan, Makassar, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, which is the favorite destination for MICE," he said.

For your information, the Sales Mission event itself took place in two different locations, namely Guangzhou on April 17, 2023, and Shenzhen on April 19, 2023.
The Sales Mission brings together the Indonesian MICE industry players with 65 buyers from Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
