Hyundai Motor Company (Hyundai and Genesis brands) reported global sales of vehicles in February 2023 reaching 327,718 units, or an increase of 7.3 percent from last year. So for 2023 alone, Hyundai Motor Company managed to sell 637,841 units of vehicles, an increase of 8.5 percent from last year.
In February, sales outside Korea also increased by 4.1 percent to 262,703 units. And the most Hyundai markets are dominated by the North American, European markets as well as the Indian market, as well as ASEAN.
The best-selling EV model is still held by Hyundai Ioniq 5 with nearly 10,000 units in February. However, Hyundai Ioniq 6 also reached a monthly record with 6,854 units sold.
In 2023, Hyundai's electric car will increase from Ioniq 5 N, Hyundai's first high-performance EV with undisclosed specifications and also Kona all-new, all-electric.
Previously, CEO of Hyundai Europe, Michael Cole, reported by insideevs, March 9, said he expects Kona Electric to only contribute 60 percent of the sale of the entire Kona model line, which also includes gasoline-powered and full-hybrid variants.
Then, for Genesis, the most EV shipments are on the GV60, GV70 EV, and G80 EV models, all of which amount to 1,765 (up 206 percent from last year) plus the first 24 GV70 electric Genesis produced in the US.
