More Personal, Google Discover Now Shows Content From Instagram And X

JAKARTA - Google announced a major update on the Discover feature, which now presents more types of content and personalization options for users.

In its official announcement, Google stated that Discover will be a more useful starting point for exploring the web, by combining articles, videos, and social media posts in one place.

In the coming weeks, users will begin to see a variety of new content on Discover, including from platform X, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.

Google said that this addition answers the needs of users who want a mix of content in the form of articles, videos, and social posts.

In addition, Google also introduced a new feature that allows users to follow publishers or creators directly through Discover.

With this feature, users can first review articles, videos, and social posts before deciding to follow.

"With this update, we want to make Discover a personal space that helps users find and connect with content from their favorite publishers and creators," said Layla Amjadi, Senior Director of Product Management, Search on Google.

The move continues Google's efforts to strengthen relations between publishers, creators and their audiences, having previously added options for selecting news sources in the Top Stories section.
