JAKARTA Hackers are now trying new ways to spread their malware to steal user information. Reported by Bleeping computer, the hacker is using Google Ads.

Reportedly, the WindowsReport independent media site has been hosted to nearly a dozen domains. This method is used by hackers to disguise themselves before infiltrating into Google's advertising network.

Through the fake WindowsReport site, hackers hosted a run-up CPU-Z. CPU-Z is a popular free utility used to monitor hardware components in Windows.

In fact, once traced, the site is a RedLine Stealer or malicious software to steal information. Through this software, hackers can filter sensitive system data such as stored passwords, payment information, cookies, cryptocurrency wallets, and much more.

Hackers deliberately promote these malicious CPU-Zs to Google Ads in order to attract large numbers of people to click. Before users enter the actual CPU-Z site, users will go through a number of diversions to avoid Google's anti-familication cranes.

Meanwhile, Malwarebytes software has recognized the infrastructure from the CPU-Z deployment method. They said that the movements of this spread were made by the same person as the spread of malware in Notepad++ at the end of October.

This allegation strengthens due to his similar actions, namely copying legitimate websites before advertising their fake websites through Google Ads. To avoid this website, make sure not to open URLs and download apps carelessly.
