School Children In El Salvador Have Been Taught About Bitcoin Since The Age Of 12

School children in El Salvador who are still 12 years old have been taught to send their first Bitcoin through the Bitcoin Beach program. The Bitcoin Beach community leads this education with the aim of providing early knowledge of Bitcoin, money and the economy to less fortunate children, so they have better chances in their lives.

Roman Mart Mariez, community leader of Bitcoin Beach, explained that the Bitcoin Beach program runs programs outside of school hours to help children get to know Bitcoin. Every Friday, they visit schools to provide education about Bitcoin, money and dreams. They teach how to create a Bitcoin wallet, help children receive their first satoshi, and make transactions with Bitcoin.

Mart Mariez explained that although many of the students initially thought that Bitcoin was difficult to learn or only for those studying the economy, they quickly adopted this technology once they were willing to learn. According to him, Bitcoin Beach emphasizes the importance of teaching students about Bitcoin, money and banking, because these things are usually not taught in schools.

Mart Mariez believes that Bitcoin is the "new evolution of money," and by teaching children about the benefits of Bitcoin along with other skills, they will have better job opportunities in the future. He revealed that by mastering English, computer skills, knowledge of Bitcoin, and marketing, these children can work remotely for anyone around the world.

Bitcoin Beach is a movement to ensure Bitcoin's potential is realized by helping those who have been excluded from the banking system. It is based in El Zonte, a beach town in about an hour's car trip from the nation's capital, San Salvador, and is one of the first regions in the country to start accepting Bitcoin.

Most of the Bitcoin-related programs in El Salvador started after the government of El Salvador made Bitcoin a legal tender in the country in September 2021. Currently, about 70% of El Salvadorans do not yet have access to the banking system. Financial inclusion is the main focus for pro-Bitcoin Pro-Bitcoin President Nayib Bukele and currently has one of the highest presidential approval levels in the world.

Apart from Bitcoin Beach, another non-profit organization focused on Bitcoin education in El Salvador is My First Bitcoin, which has helped 25,000 students gain "Bitcoin Diploma" through the public school system.
