JAKARTA - It is reported that TikTok is developing a new feature, which allows users to integrate with Lemon8, another social media application owned by ByteDance.

Based on findings from product intelligence firm watchful.ai cited by TechCrunch, the partnership sees TikTok developing a feature that will allow users to sync their Lemon8 posts to TikTok.

Not only that, this new feature will then also give users the ability to add sound and music to posts using the TikTok editor.

However, Watchful cannot provide screenshots of the features in question. However, the company notes that its methodology uses a combination of computer vision, machine learning algorithms, and openly available dataflow analysis to identify and mimic application changes.

Apart from that, watchful recently discovered that TikTok is working on other features such as AI chatbots, custom store feeds, video stickers, and much more.

Currently according to market intelligence company data.ai, Lemon8 has 25 million downloads worldwide. The five biggest markets are Thailand (36 percent of installments), Japan (24 percent), Indonesia (21 percent), Malaysia (7.2 percent), and the US. (7 percent).

Prior to this, TikTok was also reported by app analyst Matt Navarra at X, who mentioned that TikTok would soon be labeling content generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI), following Instagram which is developing a similar feature.

If rolled out later, this new feature will have to enable users if they upload AI-based content, then a notification will appear where the label helps prevent content removal.
