JAKARTA - If previously WhatsApp had a voice note (VN) feature, now the Meta messaging app is announcing the launch of a feature that allows users to send video messages.

The voice message on WhatsApp changes the way people communicate by providing a quick and safe way to share your voice. We are excited to develop this feature with a new instant video message. Now you can record and share private short videos directly in the chat," Meta wrote in its announcement quoted Friday, July 28.

With this video message, you can respond to messages via videos that last up to 60 seconds in real-time. This could be a new and fun way from WhatsApp to improve the user experience.

"In our opinion, this will be a fun way to share moments with all the emotions that arise from the video, be it wishing someone a happy birthday, laughing at jokes, or bringing good news," he added.

How To Send Video Messages

Sending the same video message as sending voice messages. You just need to tap the microphone icon on the right of the message tab, to switch to video mode, and hold back to recording videos.

In addition, you can also swipe up to lock and record videos hands-free. The video will be played automatically without sound when opened in the chat.

When you tap on the video, you'll have the sound of the video coming out too. Meta also emphasizes that this video message is protected by end-to-end encryption to keep your message safe.

Video messages have started rolling out today and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
