JAKARTA - Wednesday, April 5, Microsoft announced it has opened Edge Workspaces for limited public previews, which allow you to complete more things together.

"Today, we want to share what you can do with Edge Workspaces and how it can help you solve more things, together," Microsoft wrote in its announcement.

The company says that Edge Workspaces will provide the best way to separate browsing tasks into dedicated windows so you can stay focused and regular across tasks.

For example, if you're planning a trip, there are lots of things you need, such as lodging, transportation, places to eat, and so on. Well, Edge Workspaces allows you to create space in a browser dedicated to travel, by your own name.

In addition, Edge Workspace can also help you streamline tasks or projects, in one place. So you don't have to go back and forth to share links. There you can create a joint view of web pages and group documents with real-time updates.

Next, in Edge Workspaces, web tab updates, favorites, and documents happen in real time. So even if you and your group are not in Workspace at the same time, you can still continue the work from the last time you saw it.

"Everyone in the group can continue to add tabs, and make updates at their own speed while keeping the group on the same page, at a comfortable time for them," Microsoft explained.

Of all those capabilities, security is the main thing to pay close attention to. Microsoft insists that this feature is not a browser screen sharing, nor does it share browser data among people sharing Edge Workspace. Each user will only see the content they can access.

In addition, you can only access Edge Workspaces if you log into a Microsoft account. This means users must log in with their own credentials to access email or content accounts, or ask for access to resources such as Microsoft 365 documents if they don't have them yet.
