JAKARTA - Google's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Chatbot, Bard may soon be aligned with Bing Chat, thanks to a change in its new language model.
It is known that Bard uses the LaMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Applications) model which only has relatively small data sets.
But now, Google CEO Sundar Pichai has decided to merge PaLM (Patways Language Model) to improve mathematics and logic capabilities, with coding.
In an interview with the NYTimes recently, Pichai said Google clearly has a more capable model and deliberately chooses a mild and efficient version of the LaMDA to start and see its reciprocals.
"And for me, it's important not to put a more capable model before we can fully ensure that we can handle it well. We are all in a very, very early stage," Pichai said.
He added, Google is cautious in in introducing Bard, and wants to get a more complex model properly than focusing on being first, or losing the ongoing AI race.
"We clearly have a more capable model. Soon, maybe it will be aired, we will upgrade Bard to some of our more capable PaLM models. So you will see the next progress. But I don't want to be the only one who got it first, but doing it right is very important for us," explained Pichai.
Furthermore, Pichai stated, PaLM will bring more capabilities, either in reasoning or coding.
Meanwhile last year, Google said PLM was able to do more than that, such as Questions Answering, Semantic Parsing, Language, Arithmetic, Code Completion, General Knowledge, Read Understanding, Summary, Logic Inference Chain, Healthy Mind Management, Pola, Translation, Dialogue, Explanation Joke, QA Physics, and Language Understanding.
This ability was created because it is supported by the next generation of AI architecture called Pathways, which can train one model to do thousands or millions of things, compared to today's individual approach, as quoted from 9to5Google, Saturday, April 1.
It is known that Bard was launched to the general public in early March. But Bard did not immediately get a good response, because he did not have the same coding ability as ChatGPT.
In response, Google revealed that the encoding will be coming soon, as well as adding a generating AI to Android Studio for application development in the near future.
Bard is also said to be far from its competitor Bing Chat, as Bard has not offered a detailed answer to the question provided by Microsoft's chatbot.
Microsoft's Head of Advertising and Web Service Mikhail Parakhin once mentioned, where Bard's position is still quite far behind Bing Chat.
