JAKARTA - OpenAI has just launched a plug-in ChatGPT, which is designed to make it easier for third-party businesses to embed chatbot functionality into their products.

Plug-in OpenAI is a custom-designed tool for language models that help ChatGPT access the latest information, run computing, or use third-party services.

However, it doesn't end there. With access to the Internet, users can shop, book tickets, and more. Reportedly, OpenAI will introduce online plug-in stores such as Google Play and iTunes that allow users to buy third-party plug-ins.

According to the company, not a few users have been waiting for a chatbot since its launch and developers have been experimenting to open up various possible cases of using chatbots.

"We are gradually rolling out plug-in on ChatGPT so we can learn about the use, impact, and challenges of its security and alignment in the real world that we have to do right to achieve our mission," OpenAI said in a blog post.

The first plug-in collection has been created by companies such as Instacart, Milo, OpenTable, Shopify, Slack, Speak, Zapier, Wolfram, Expedia, FiscalNote, Klarna, and Kaya.

Users can click and upload a number of plug-ins offered today. For example, users of Instacart food delivery services can upload plug-in ChatGPT and start using natural language processors to ask questions such as restaurant recommendations, recipes, groceries, and the total calorie number of these foods.

"Plug-in offers the potential to overcome various challenges related to large language models, including hallucinations, following current events, and accessing (with permission) sources of property rights information," said OpenAI.

OpenAI has provided access to a small number of developers who are already on the waiting list to the documentation they can use to create a ChatGPT plug-in.

That way, OpenAI can monitor any bad influences from the plug-in. However, the company plans to launch it widely in the coming months, as quoted by Computer World, Wednesday, March 29.

ChatGPT, has been the center of attention of the world of technology since its debut in November 2022. In recent months, companies such as Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Snapchat, and Grammarly have rushed to showcase and release similar generative AI capabilities in their own products.
