YouTube Will Have A Quality Option Streaming 1080p New Premium, What's The Excellence?

JAKARTA - YouTube is reportedly testing the quality of a new 1080p Premium video and is described as having an improved Bitrate. This feature is claimed to be available to Premium subscribers.

The quality of 1080p Premium was first seen by Reddit u/KZEDUK users. This feature seems to be designed by YouTube to offer the same quality 1080p streaming as the current one, but has a higher bit speed to present better images.

"The 10800p Premium is an upgraded bitrate 1080p version that provides more information per pixel that produces a higher quality viewing experience," a YouTube spokesperson told The Verge, quoted Monday, February 27.

Meanwhile, Tech Today speculates the new high- bitrate 1080p option can address users' desire to watch higher-quality videos, which they address by switching to streaming options 1440p or 2160p (4K) when available.

However, a Redditor says they can confirm streaming runs around 14Mbps, which is usually only 8Mbps.

This new option can offset the cost of operating YouTube to meet users' desire to watch higher quality videos from mobile devices.

This is because there are user reports where bitrates on some YouTube content have recently been lower, possibly due to the company being testing this new feature.

Plus, YouTube's old CEO Susan Wojcicki recently resigned after nine years of leadership, so it is certain that there will be changes in the company's business strategy.

For information, bitrate determines how big or small digital video files are and how much compression is displayed while streaming, it's higher.

The frame speed, on the other hand, determines how much users will see per second, where the higher number looks smoother.

This new feature, as displayed, will most likely be offered on YouTube Premium, which also has some excellent features such as removing ads from videos, access to background playback, offline video downloading, and YouTube Music Premium at a price of IDR 183 thousand per month.
