Airbnb Will Start Showing Rental Prices For More Transparent Homes Starting Next Month

JAKARTA - Airbnb, an online service that provides rental services for houses or apartments spread across the world, will be more transparent in displaying rental prices on its platform.

"I've heard you hard and obviously you feel the price is not transparent and checkpoint job is troublesome. That's why we made 4 changes," Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky said on Twitter.

The first change, Chesky explained, starting next month, for Airbnb users who will rent a place, they will be able to see the total price they have to pay upfront.

When you turn this on, you’ll see the total price (before taxes) in search results, as well as on the map, price filter, and listing page. You can also view a full price breakdown with Airbnb’s service fee, discounts, and taxes.

The second change, Airbnb will show the house with the best price (not price per night) will be ranked higher in the search results of users.

"Three, so that the Host can set a more competitive price, we will launch new price tools and discounts. The hosts let us know that they need our help to better understand the final price guests pay and the price that must be charged to stay competitive," Chesky said.

Finally, he said that visitors do not need to carry out checkout routines such as tidying the bed, washing clothes, or sweeping the rented place. Visitors only need to turn off the lights, throw the garbage, and lock the door when checking out.

"If the host has a request for a checkout, the request must be reasonable and shown to you before you order," he said.
