Disdik Makassar Invites Students To Use Social Media With Full Responsibility

MAKASSAR-Media sosial has now become the daily life of the people, including teenagers in Indonesia. The Makassar Education Office (Disdik) invites students to be smarter and wiser in social media so as not to harm themselves and others in the future.

Head of Makassar City Disdik Muhyiddin in Makassar, Saturday, October 1, said that his party had instructed teachers to provide understanding of the impacts and the effects of irresponsible social media.

"We together with the discominfo yesterday discussed positive content. Starting from reading information and which ones can be thrown (share), we have to think about so that it doesn't have a negative impact," he said, as quoted by Antara.

He explained that teachers at schools were asked to provide understanding to students to avoid hate speech, hoaxes or those containing sensitive SARA issues.

The Regent of Sinjai Andi Seto Asapa when giving material to the Digital Literacy Seminar which was attended by junior high and high school students, also invited millennials to use digital literacy with social media wisely.
