JAKARTA - Filling out electric vehicles (EVs) is not something you can do quickly, at least you need about an hour at the fastest.

With the waiting condition for that long, you must feel bored, and look for other activities so that time feels faster.

Therefore, it is not uncommon for some of you to choose to wait somewhere such as in cafes, restaurants, or maybe a place to just sit down.

Michael Koboni, Starbucks chief sustainability officer told Automotive News that they will build 60 fast chargers in his 15 stores, from the company's homes in Seattle to Denver, CO, by the end of this year.

The company revealed that each of these locations will be no more than 100 miles apart with ChargePoint providing DC fast chargers.

"By the end of 2022, Starbucks intends to install chargers in up to 15 Starbucks stores, roughly every 100 miles on that route," the company said in an official statement last August.

The first station, backed by ChargePoint, has been installed in Starbucks in Provo, Utah. This pilot plan, announced in March, is part of Starbucks' expansion for renewable energy projects and decarbonization in the US.

The initiative from Starbucks to open an EV charging station near a store is nothing new, given that IKEA has implemented it first along with Electrify America.

IKEA said it would install fast chargers in its 18 states and 25 stores.

Not only building public charging stations into its stores, Electrify said in a press release last month that this collaboration was also intended to help IKEA's ambition to create a circular and climate positive business by 2030.
