JAKARTA - Former US President Donald Trump was dismissed as director of the board of Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) last month. This is known from state documents, weeks before the company received a call from federal authorities in the US.

Documents from the Florida State Department's Corporate Division, dated June 8, also show that Donald Trump Jr and Kashyap Patel were also removed as directors.

Truth Social, a social media platform owned by the company, said in a post that Donald Trump still remains on the TMTG board. However TMTG did not respond to a request for comment from Reuters for further details on this report.

TNGT itself received a subpoena from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on June 27 and another subpoena from a federal grand jury in the Southern District of New York on June 30.

TMTG agreed to merge with blank check company Digital World in October and the deal is expected to be finalized in the second half of this year.

The SEC and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority have been investigating the deal since late last year. On June 13, Digital World said the SEC was seeking more information about the deal.
