Turn Off Samsung's S Translator Service

JAKARTA - Samsung is known to be discontinuing some features of the S Voice service. Now Samsung is starting to stop its smart translator service S Translator on December 1.

Launching from the GSM Arena, Wednesday, November 4, the termination of the service feature has also been informed to the user's device. Instead of S Translator, Samsung recommends users to use the smart assistant feature of Bixby.

In addition, Samsung users can also use several translator applications available on the Google Play Store and Galaxy Store. In fact, the S Translator feature was introduced by Samsung along with the presence of the Galaxy S4.

At that time, Samsung tried to offer homemade applications as an alternative to Google's software, including the S Voice digital assistant. The existence of the S Translator is still being maintained by Samsung until the flagship Galaxy Note9 and even the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Fold 5G which were released in early 2019.

Will Replace Bixby

Samsung itself is reportedly in talks with Google to bring better smart assistant services to its devices. One of the discussions in the discussion said that Samsung would replace Bixby with Google Assistant.

The Bixby feature is a smart virtual assistant made by Samsung, as an alternative to assistant services and the Galaxy Store. However, because Samsung is an Android manufacturer, it is certainly not possible if there are two features with the same function in one device.

According to sources quoted by Reuters, Google has been trying for years to convince Samsung to prioritize Google Assistant and the Play Store on its cellphones, and get rid of its own services.

Even so, Samsung still hasn't confirmed to close Bixby or the Galaxy Store from their Android devices. Samsung believes that both are important applications in the Galaxy device ecosystem.
