Different From Bandai Namco, Nintendo Is Absent From The 2022 Gamescom Exhibition

JAKARTA - After going through a long period during the pandemic, the game industry is now back to normal. It can be seen from the holding of face-to-face game exhibition events such as the Tokyo Game Show which will be held this year.

Not to be outdone, Gamescom will also hold a face-to-face event on August 24-28, which will be held in Cologne, Germany. Similar to the Tokyo Game Show, Gamescom is also the world's leading game trade show and exhibition event.

But, the bad news is knowing that Nintendo will not be contributing to the exhibition.

“Gamescom is the main event on the calendar of events for Nintendo. However, this year, after careful consideration, we have decided not to participate in Cologne," according to a report provided by Nintendo's European headquarters in Frankfurt to Games Wirtschaft.

Instead, Nintendo says its players can try Nintendo games at various other events in Germany.

"Events that have been planned so far include roadshows with our Airstreamers and our Bulli, for example at locations such as the SWR Summer Festival and the Stuttgart Children and Youth Festival," he explained.

Additionally, Nintendo confirmed that they will be attending the Main Matsuri Japan Festival in Frankfurt as well as DoKomi in Düsseldorf and AnimagiC in Mannheim. More tour stops and activities are planned.

So far, only a few participants have officially confirmed their presence at Gamescom 2022, such as THQ Nordic, Bandai Namco Entertainment, and Koch Media.
