PS5 Purchases On Amazon Must Use New Invitation System, Xbox Series X Purchases Will Also Apply Later

JAKARTA - PlayStation 5 is a game console that is in great demand today. The PS5 unleashes new game possibilities you never anticipated. Apparently, this invitation-based system only applies to the more expensive version of the PlayStation 5, which costs $499.99. This version features a Blu-ray disc drive, and not a digital version. For now, this invite option is available for the PS5 in the US.

Apart from that, it seems that this system will also be activated for Xbox Series X in the coming days. The company told TechCrunch that it plans to deploy the system for more products and in other countries.

Amazon will choose whether your account is genuine or not, by looking at your account creation date and past purchase history. If you are selected, you will receive an email with a link to purchase one within 72 hours. Don't forget, Amazon insists that you don't have to be a Prime subscriber to request the invite.

Sony also previously had a similar invite system on its PlayStation Direct site, where it sold a limited number of PS5s.
